Congratulations the following students who were accepted into the 2025 Maryland All State ensemble: Elizabeth C. (Jr. Mixed Chorus, soprano), KJ L. (Jr. Mixed Chorus, tenor), and Ethan J. (Jr. Orchestra, string bass). Crofton Middle School was one of three middle school in all of Anne Arundel County to have students qualify for this accomplishment. All State ensembles represent the best of the best 7th through 12th grade student musicians from across the state of Maryland. Thousands of students audition with just over 950 accepted across nine ensembles. It is a tremendous honor for the students and their music educators as well as a credit to their schools. On Thursday, May 29th, our school will be hosting a Hoops for Heart fundraising event to support the American Heart Association. This event is to raise awareness to promote a healthy lifestyle and to support heart healthy activities. Through the Month of February, families can use this link or the QR code below to make donations towards the Hoops for Heart Fundraiser. After the completion of the event, we will compile the donations from each grade level and announce the winning grade with the most donations after Memorial Day weekend. These students will earn an award the following week. Our goal for this year is to raise $2,000.

AACPS is announcing the launch of #LiftLA, a campaign through which we are asking our students, families, employees, community members, and businesses to contribute what they can to help the students and families of the Los Angeles Unified School District. The campaign will start on January 22, 2025, and conclude on February 28, 2025.
Those wishing to contribute by check should make those checks out to Education Foundation of Anne Arundel County Public Schools and note #LiftLA in the memo line. Those wishing to contribute online can go to www.aacps.org/liftLA. All donations will go to the Los Angeles Unified School District Education Foundation so that it can support the district’s students and their families as needed.
The Belong, Grow, Succeed mindset we try to impart to students every day is sometimes bigger than our own community and this is an opportunity to step up and help.
The rebuilding of Los Angeles will take years, if not decades. Our efforts can make a difference for children we may never meet, but whose lives can be bettered by our generosity.
