Did you know that Student Service Learning (SSL) is a Maryland state graduation requirement? It's also a powerful way for students to explore interests, support their communities, and build leadership skills. Starting in 5th grade, students earn a total of 75 service hours through middle and high school, with opportunities to find additional service projects in their communities or to develop their own student-led projects.
Using the Service Learning Portal, students can find local opportunities and easily log their hours. The Student Service Learning Leadership Team supports students and partners with communitymembers and organizations to make meaningful service possible. Students who go above and beyond may also earn special awards for distinguished service-learning.
Anne Arundel County Public Schools is a national leader in Service-Learning, and our students make a difference every day! Learn more about Service Learning at www.aacps.org/servicelearning.
