Folger families,
It was a pleasure to welcome students back from Winter break! Staff and students continue to transition well amid many changes including the return from break, snow days, delayed openings, and early dismissals. Being adaptable, particularly to unexpected change, is a great life skill and this month is providing ample opportunity to practice! I am so proud of our students and staff!
Here is the link to the AACPS calendar. January in particular has a great deal of events and schedule modifications. The weather shifts may cause changes and AACPS/Folger will communicate this information as we receive it. Just a reminder per the correspondences last week, per the Maryland State Department of Education, AACPS and other jurisdictions must first use all built-in snow days before virtual instruction can be considered. AACPS has now used its three (3) built-in weather days. Should we get to that fourth (4th) day at any point, AACPS will communicate the plans for instruction and Folger will follow up with additional specific information, as needed.
As we jump into the new year, I would like to thank our families, school staff, and students for their hard work each day! I am grateful to see the partnership that yields such an effective process to grow our students, not just academically, but socially and emotionally as well! Folger is truly a special place where it is so gratifying to witness this each and every day!
In closing, thank you again, and please don’t hesitate to reach out to us if you have any questions, concerns, or needs we may be able to help with at school.
Sincerely,
Mr. Jason Otte, Principal
