OUR MISSION
Fostering a life long love of learning in a
Safe and orderly environment with
Excellent teachers facilitating
Students' active learning.
Welcome to the new school year! Our theme this year is “Wish”! We know this year is going to bring new experiences and lots of magical moments. Thank you to the wonderful PTA for our welcome-back breakfast and snacks. We had a wonderful New Year's celebration on the first day.
We look forward to back-to-school night on September 9, 2025. The PTA meeting will start at 6:00 in the cafeteria. Session 1 for classroom visits will begin at 6:30 and session 2 will be at 7:00.
AACPS has committed to healthy habits. For your student’s birthday, do not send in food items. Please celebrate with non-food items (bookmark, pencil, etc.). Meal Benefit Applications are still required by the State. Parents/guardians can complete the State required Meal Benefit Applications. Click here to apply online! Parents/Guardians are responsible to pay the meal balance. We had over $1,000 of unpaid meals last year. Please continue to check the balance to make payments. More details below.
We are launching our learning platform called Canvas (Brightspace is now gone) to view graded assignments. Rooms is a communication platform for the school and teacher to communicate with families (same as last year). Additionally, download the AACPS app to receive information from the school and county.
Additionally, we are continuing with our school-wide behavior program called Positive Behavior Intervention Support (PBIS). Students will earn “shark bucks” for positive behaviors displayed. Special thanks to our PTA for buying items for the school store, Shark Shop!
New to our Staff:
Haley Simpson, Special Education
Erin Kiley O’Hara, Special Education
Malea Sharps, EEE long-term sub
Leanne Bulla, part-time SLP
Vincent Gefre, part-time EEE
Sonal Tankersley, part-time Media
Debbie Jensen, ECSE TA
Please remember to always bring your ID when picking up students, visiting, volunteering, chaperoning, and when attending any parent/teacher conference.
Due to supply shortages, substitutions to the menu may occur.
Please find additional information about Food and Nutrition Services at: https://aacpsschools.org/nutrition/
If your child wants to buy an extra milk (55 cents) or juice (50 cents) when they go through the cafeteria line, there has to be money in their general account. You can either send in a check made out to "Four Seasons Elementary School" with your child's student identification number (SIF) and "general account" in the memo line, or add money to your MyPaymentsPlus account and specify "general account."
Recommendation from AACPS - if you would like your child to purchase meals only, deposit funds in the meal account. If you would like your child to purchase meals plus additional items, deposit funds in the general account only.
If you have any questions, please email Mrs. Shank at bshank@aacps.org.
FOUR SEASONS ELEMENTARY SCHOOL ARRIVAL/DISMISSAL 2025-2026
ARRIVAL:
Arrival begins at 7:45 a.m. Doors close at 8:00 a.m. After 8:00, students must check in at the office.
Instruction begins at 8:05. Students need to be in the classroom at 8:05 for attendance.
DISMISSAL:
Bell rings at 2:25 p.m.
Bus riders exit through the front media center door.
SACC students go to the cafeteria.
Grade 1-5 walkers exit through the rear gym door. K walkers exit through K door.
Van riders exit through the lobby.
Grade 1-5 car riders wait along the brick wall of the car lane. K car riders wait in music hall until car arrives.
While waiting for dismissal to begin, please do not block the entrance to the staff parking near the cafeteria/kitchen doors.
GENERAL ARRIVAL/DISMISSAL PROCEDURES FOR THE YEAR
CAR RIDER ARRIVAL/DISMISSAL PROCEDURES:
Student safety is always our first priority! Drive slowly and do not use your cell phones. Please be patient and respect the staff on duty. We complete dismissal in approximately 10 minutes once everyone learns the routines.
Be sure to have your child’s name and grade on a card clearly visible on the front windshield.
Pull up as indicated by staff on duty.
Follow the "Kiss and Go" plan - Do NOT get out of your car. Do NOT park in a no-parking zone.
At 7:45 a.m., staff will assist children to their appropriate door to enter. There is no supervision or admittance prior to 7:45 a.m.
Doors will be closed at 8:00 a.m. Any arrivals after 8:00 will need to check in at the office.
Our loop is one lane! Do NOT pull alongside another vehicle to exit unless directed by a staff member.
WALKERS:
Students arriving between 7:45-8:00 a.m. will be directed to the side entrance (car rider door).
Remember - there is no supervision or admittance to the building prior to 7:45 a.m.
Your student is expected to walk home. If you are meeting your student on property, you must have a plan/meeting location. Walkers are independent and are not handed off individually to a parent/guardian. Students should not go to the playground without parent supervision.
REMINDERS
Please do not drop off or park in the bus lane at any time. We have buses that arrive at different times throughout the day.
Please drive slowly and watch for children in the school zone.
Pre-K, ECSE, and Kindergarten parent(s) need to park in a parking spot if getting out of the car to drop off/pick up students.
Instruction begins at 8:05 and all students are expected to be in their seats at that time.
Students not in their seats by 8:05 a.m. when instruction begins are marked tardy.
Keep your dismissal consistent Monday through Friday. For example, if your student is a bus rider but you are able to pick him/her up one day - consider picking them up at the bus stop versus changing their dismissal procedure. CONSISTENCY IS KEY FOR DISMISSAL!
Please do not call the school after 1:00 to change dismissal plans! We cannot guarantee that we are able to make a change that close to dismissal. And please do not email the teacher for a change in dismissal as they cannot always check their email before dismissal.

Hello parents and families! Welcome back! We hope you had a relaxing and joyful summer. As we gear up for another exciting school year at Four Seasons, we'd like to share a few important health room reminders to ensure a safe and healthy start for all our students.
Health Room Reminders:
Medication Drop-Off: If your child requires medication during the school day, please bring it directly to the health room along with the Parent Request to Administer Medication form (PRAM). Medication cannot be accepted without the completed forms. Per AACPS policy, students are not permitted to carry any medication (including over-the-counter items) during the school day. All medications must be brought to the health room by a parent, guardian, or designated adult. Over-the-counter medications must be in an unopened container.
Allergy & Medical Conditions: If your child has allergies, chronic conditions, or special health needs, notify the health room so we can provide appropriate care and support.
Illness Policy: Keep your child home if they have a fever (100.0 F or higher). Students should be symptom-free for at least 24 hours without medication before returning to school.
Sick Student Pick-Up: If your child becomes ill at school, they must be picked up from the health room within 30 minutes. If you are unable to do so, please have a backup plan in place. This can be a trusted family member, neighbor, or another designated adult.
Extra Clothing: Please make sure your student has a seasonally appropriate change of clothes in their locker. Even older students need a change of clothing because mud and spills happen!
Thank you for your continued support in keeping our school community healthy. If you have any questions or need to share updated health information, please don't hesitate to reach out:
Rebecca Keating, RN, School Nurse: nurse3272@aacps.org
Karen Lipana, Health Assistant: health3272@aacps.org
Wishing everyone a wonderful start to the school year!
AACPS schools remember student Mo Gaba in January each year for his spirit of positivity and perseverance in the face of great adversity. Four Seasons has chosen to extend this to a monthly recognition based on our SHARK behavior expectations. Each month, a student from each class will be recognized for that month’s behavior expectation.
We are very proud of the following students for exemplifying May’s focus on respect. Great job!

Welcome back to another amazing year! We are so excited to be with your students again this year, and looking forward to fun and engaging lessons in the library. We are happy to welcome Mrs. Tankersley who will be here on Thursdays and Fridays with us. As always, I am here every day, and Mrs. Weiss, the Media Assistant, is here every day except for Thursday.
We are blessed to have parent volunteers assist us with shelving books and have an open spot this year. If you are interested, please contact me at sshelby@aacps.org. This would be a 2-hour commitment per week. Additionally, if you would like to volunteer to be a back-up to come in when one of the regular volunteers is unavailable, please email me.
Our first Scholastic Book Fair will take place from October 13-17. Students will have the opportunity to shop during their class media time. Additionally, we will have our Family Book Fair evening event on Tuesday, October 14. WE NEED VOLUNTEERS TO ASSIST US! If you are able to give an hour of time that evening, it will help things run smoothly and ensure that the lines aren’t too long. Look for an invite to sign up on the PTA Facebook page in September.
Finally, we are still missing almost $2000 worth of books from last year. Students have been sent home with multiple notices. Another notice will go home during the first week of school - please help us clear this debt so that we can purchase replacement copies of those books. Students with outstanding debts will not be able to select new books until the replacement fee has been paid. If you need to make financial arrangements, please email me.
Thank you for your support! We are looking forward to another fantastic year!
Mrs. Susan Shelby

Four Seasons offers a convenient way to pay for school items electronically. It’s called Online School Payments (OSP) and will allow families to pay by credit card for things such as field trips and lost media books. We also have options to allow you to donate to support special activities for students or to donate to allow the principal to “treat” our staff. Please note that there is a small service charge for using the OSP system. Cash and checks made payable to Four Seasons Elementary School are always accepted for student fees with no service fee. If you have any questions regarding the OSP system, please contact Erika Allen at eallen@aacps.org or
410-222-6501. To access OSP, please click on this link: Four Seasons OSP.
Notice: Four Seasons Elementary School is equipped with a video camera system. It covers selected interior and exterior public portions of the building and grounds. It is not monitored constantly, but it is monitored during emergency situations. During certain events, when the safety or security of students may be in question, authorized personnel from local, state or federal police or fire emergency units may be given access to view images projected on the camera system. If you have any questions about the system, please call the Supervisor of School Security at 410-222-5083.
The Anne Arundel County Public School System does not discriminate on the basis of race, sex age, national origin, religion, disability, or socioeconomic status in matters affecting employment or in providing access to programs. All you need is your phone! Please download the Box Tops app, shop as you normally would, then use the app to scan your store receipt within 14 days of purchase. The app will identify Box Tops products on your receipt and automatically credit your school’s earnings online.
There are very few clip box tops on boxes, but if you find a box top with a red dotted line around it, please clip it and bring it in to
Four Seasons. Go to boxtops4education.com for more information.
