Family Newsletter - January 2025

From the Principal:

Dear Families,

Welcome to 2026! As we embark on the new year, I would like to take a moment to thank you for all that you do to support your children and the Marley Glen community. We truly have the best school community anyone could ask for, and I am grateful for our continued partnership.

This winter, we are excited to begin several new initiatives, including a Parents’ Evening Out, family workshops with childcare and sibling workshops, and a middle/high school dance. Please stay tuned for more details about these upcoming events.

On a bittersweet note, our wonderful front secretary, Chris Ritz, will be leaving us after being promoted to Principal’s Secretary at Carver Early Childhood Center. While we will miss her dearly, we are so proud of Chris and excited for her as she begins this new chapter in her career. Ms. Chris's last day is today, 1/9/26, after many years of service to the Marley Glen community!

Thank you again for your ongoing support, and I look forward to a great year ahead.

Sincerely,
Jayne Hudson
Principal

From the Health Room:

It is germ season, and there is a surge of flu cases statewide! If you suspect that your child may be catching a bug, please let them rest at home! The school health policy on fevers is that your child must be 24 hours fever free without the help of medications to attend school. Thank you for doing your part to stop the spread of infection!

Fello Family Fund - Application and Grant Information

The Fello Family Fund grant application period opens on February 1, 2026 and closes on February 21, 2026.

The Family Fund is designed to provide financial assistance and essential resources to families navigating the complexities of raising children with disabilities through grants up to $2,000. Many effective resources, therapies, and services make an incredible difference in the quality of life for children with disabilities but are not covered by insurance and are out of reach financially for the families who need access to them the most.

Our Social Worker, Ms. Angie Fox, is happy to assist with applications to this grant!  afox-antoniak@aacps.org or text 443-962-3546.

For Spanish support, call or text our Community School Program Manager, Mrs. Kaitlyn Ramos, 667-500-3102.
