Why Attendance Matters

Coming to school every day helps students learn, grow, and stay connected with their teachers and classmates. When students attend school regularly, they build strong learning habits, keep up with lessons, and develop important social skills.

Even missing just a few days can make it harder for students to catch up with classwork and fully understand new topics. Being present each day helps students stay confident, engaged, and successful in their learning.

Families can support good attendance by setting regular bedtime and morning routines, planning appointments outside school hours when possible, and encouraging children to come to school ready to learn.

Every day counts, and we love seeing our students at school!

Read & Hit A Homerun!

We’re excited to share that your child’s school is taking part in the Chesapeake Baysox “Read & Hit a Home Run” Reading Program, sponsored by the Educational Systems Federal Credit Union!

The Chesapeake Baysox is the Class Double-A Minor League Baseball affiliate of the Baltimore Orioles. Along with exciting baseball games, the Baysox are known for offering some of the best family-friendly entertainment in our region.

What is the “Read & Hit a Home Run” Program?

Now in its 29th season, this program encourages students to build strong reading habits both in and out of the classroom. Students who read at least four books will earn two free tickets to their school’s special “Read & Hit a Home Run” Night at a Baysox game!

We’re thrilled to be involved and can’t wait to celebrate our students’ reading achievements at the ballpark!

Your child’s school has selected Friday, May 22 at 7:05 PM for Reading Night with the Chesapeake Baysox.
