Message from Admin

Dear Families,

We are thrilled to welcome you back for another exciting school year! As your Principal, Mrs. Pannebaker, and Assistant Principal, Mr. Kruger, we are filled with enthusiasm for the learning, growth, and joy that await our students this year.

Our team has been working hard to prepare a safe, engaging, and nurturing environment where every child can thrive. It has been wonderful to see our hallways filled with bright smiles and eager minds ready to Belong, Grow, and Succeed.

Important Reminders for a Smooth Arrival and Dismissal:

  • School Hours: 7:40 AM – 2:25 PM

  • Doors Open: 7:40 AM

  • Tardy Bell: 8:00 AM

  • Instruction Begins: 8:05 AM

To ensure your child has time to enjoy a nutritious breakfast and settle in before learning begins, we encourage families to arrive by 7:55 AM. This helps students start their day calm, focused, and ready to learn.

Weekly Work Folders

Starting this school year, students will bring home folders with completed work every Wednesday. Please take a moment to:

  • -Review your child’s completed work

  • -Remove any papers that do not need to be returned

  • -Sign and return any forms or papers requiring a signature

  • -Send the folder back to your child’s homeroom teacher the following day

This process helps keep families informed and supports strong communication between home and school.

We are honored to partner with you in your child’s educational journey. Let’s make this year amazing!

Warmly,
Mrs. Candace Pannebaker
Principal

Community Schools Update

Park Elementary is more than a school—it’s a hub where families, educators, and community partners work side by side to support every child.

Through strong partnerships with local organizations, health providers, and community resources, we’re able to offer much more than academics. These connections bring enrichment programs, health and wellness supports, and family resources designed to serve individuals from birth through adulthood.

At Park Elementary, children, families, and the community are truly at the heart of all we do.

In our roles as the School Psychologist and School Social Worker, we are committed to supporting the academic, social, emotional, and behavioral development of all students. We provide individual and group counseling, connect families with helpful resources, and advocate for students when additional supports are needed. We also offer crisis intervention and work with families to access mental health and community resources when challenges arise. Additionally, we collaborate with staff and families in Individualized Education Plan (IEP) meetings to ensure every student receives the support they deserve.

Our shared goal is to make sure all students feel supported, safe, and connected so they can feel confident, empowered, and ready to reach their full potential both in and out of the classroom. We are excited to be part of this wonderful community and look forward to partnering with you throughout the year. Please don’t hesitate to reach out—we’re here to help!

School Reminders

Lunch Application Forms: Each year, we ask all families to complete the lunch application form. This form not only might qualify your child for free or reduced meals, but also helps our school to receive funding. Access the online lunch application form here. Or, you can complete the paper application and return it to school with your child. If you need assistance, feel free to stop into school next week.

Please note: if your child is NEW to AACPS, his/her lunch will be full-priced for now ($2.75/lunch) unless you complete the form, the form is processed, and you receive a notice that your child qualifies for free/reduced lunches.
