Technology: Brightspace & Chromebook request
As students are gaining access to technology, teachers will ensure they list the graded assignments in their Brightspace for quarters 2-4 with the corresponding due dates. If there is work that can be done at home, those assignments will be linked. We will still utilize Focus Friday and Help Days to ensure students have access for reteaching, redos, and make up work in school.
If you are in need of technology, you can request a Chromebook by following the directions below.
Steps to request a loaner Chromebook:
Chromebook Loaner Request Form Instructions

Parents/Guardians may also contact the front office to submit their request and begin the process to receive a loaner Chromebook.

We are currently out of sweatshirts in our uniform clothing closet. Students can purchase sweatshirts in the mornings between 9-9:15am. Students may wear a solid crew neck, a ¾ zip, or a solid cardigan sweater to help stay warm.
Jackets and hoodies are not allowed, so please dress accordingly so class time is not missed.
Families - if you have any old uniform sweatshirts or plain solid crew neck, 3/4 zip, or solid cardigan sweater in gray, black, purple, white or blue, please feel free to drop them off at the main office so we can donate to any students that may need them.
Please consider donating our approved uniform bottoms for situations when students are out of uniform, or something happens to their bottoms. We find ourselves in need of the larger sizes more often and specifically females needing sizes such as girls 16-18 and junior/woman sizes 12-24. Please have your student drop off any donations to the uniform closet during arrival or to the main office.
You can also contact Shauna Rykiel at srykiel@aacps.org to coordinate.

We’re excited to invite you to Movie Night at the Wiley H. Bates Legacy Center!
The Wiley H. Bates Legacy Center honors the legacy of Wiley H. Bates High School. This operated as the only high school for African American students in Annapolis and Anne Arundel County for over 30 years during segregation. As a historical, cultural, and educational hub, the center preserves and shares the school's contributions to education, economic opportunity, and community service. Through its collections and programs, the center fosters understanding of the African American educational heritage in Maryland and serves as a resource for research, renewal, and inspiration. With this in mind, the center has started a new tradition: Movie Nights!
Movie nights are FREE, open to the public, and occur every 1st and 3rd Thursday of the month with one being TWO WEEKS AWAY, 7PM Thursday, November 7th! The movies are chosen with the goal of spotlighting black stories and amplifying black voices-- something the Wiley H. Bates Legacy Center strives to do every day.
The movie featured for the upcoming event will be "Shirley," a biographical film about how the first-ever Black congresswoman, Shirley Chisholm, launched a trailblazing campaign to become the president of the United States.
🗓️ When: Thursday, November 7th, 2024
📍 Where: 1101 Smithville St, Annapolis, MD 21401
🍿 Movie: Shirley (2024)
🕖 Time: 7PM
🆓 Cost: FREE
Bring your whole family, bring youth, bring friends, bring acquaintances, bring everyone! Come early, explore the legacy, and stay for the movie. We look forward to seeing you there!
