Attendance HERO Class of the Week
Week of 11/11!

Congratulations to Mrs. Winarski's class for having 100% attendance for the week!

Here, Everyday, Ready to learn, On time

Helpful Attendance Note:

When making appointments for your child during school hours, you can help your child get credit for a "Full Day of Attendance" if appointments are scheduled strategically. If your child has a morning appointment, having him/her to school by 11:20 will be considered "Full Day Present." If your child has an afternoon appointment, picking him/her up after 11:20 will be considered 'Full Day Present.' While your child will still be marked as being Tardy or having an Early Dismissal, it will not impact their 'Total Days Absent' which is what is tracked by the Maryland State Department of Education. See the chart below for an outline of AACPS Elementary cut-off times.

Attendance Competition

AACPS is launching a districtwide Attendance Competition during the month of December. Help Windsor Farm be highlighted as a top-tier Attendance School by helping your child attend school during the month of December.

There will be individual, classroom, and school-wide recognitions! Let's Go Eagles!

News from the PTO

Scholastic Bookfair

It's the most wonderful time of year!

And by that we mean it's Scholastic Book Fair Week! Most classes will be shopping at the Book Fair during their assigned media time. Two classes will shop at the Book Fair on alternate days:

  • Ms. Fretwell's class will be visiting on Tuesday morning from 9:05-9:35

  • Mrs. Turner's class will be visiting on Tuesday afternoon from 12:15-12:45

Please be sure to set up your student's eWallet, if desired. eWallets are the cashless way to shop the fair! eWallets are updated in real-time, but with the spotty service at the school, we want to make sure everything is ready to go when your student is ready to shop!

eWallets are especially helpful for those who may misplace cash sent with them. Windsor Farm PTO is not responsible for cash sent to school with your student. Volunteers will give a small plastic Ziploc bag to hold change and the receipt if needed, but we cannot be responsible for what happens to change once it is given back to your student.

We Need Volunteers!

Please consider volunteering for the Book Fair! When volunteering, you can help students find books, work the register, restock books, or tidy up areas that have been well-visited. The Book Fair is a week full of FUN! It is so cool to see our volunteers share the Book Fair experience with the students. The fair really does hold the same excitement and joy that many remember experiencing over 30 years ago.

Clearing out closets before the holidays? Getting rid of loved, but outgrown games? If you are looking to get rid of some elementary-appropriate games, please consider donating them to the PTO to use during our Family Game Night! Please check to see if the games have all the pieces. If they are missing some that don't affect gameplay that's okay! Just make a little note to let us know. When sending in a game, please stick a Post-it or attach a small piece of paper to the game that says "For PTO".
