Reminders & Notes of Interest

Early Dismissal

Early Dismissal Reminder
Monday & Tuesday

As we wrap up the first marking period, students will be dismissed two hours early on Monday, October 27 and Tuesday, October 28. Dismissal will begin at 12:25 PM on both days.

Backwards Day at Windsor Farm - Tuesday

Backwards Day

We’re turning things around on Tuesday to celebrate the last day of the marking period and our 3R’s – Respect, Responsibility, and Readiness for Learning!

On Backwards Day, students are invited to dress for the occasion—think shirts worn backwards, inside-out outfits, or other creative twists! And to keep the theme going, we’ll say “Goodbye” when we arrive and “Hello” as we leave.

Let’s have a little fun and show off our school spirit in a backwards way!

Halloween Parade

Kids in costumes

Our annual Halloween Parade will be held on Friday, October 31st at 1:15pm.

Families are invited to be spectators along the parade route. The parade route will be along the lower loop. Spectators may report to the sidewalks along the parade route - there is no need to check-in at the main office.

Please note, if the parade is moved indoors because of inclement weather, we will unfortunately not be able to accommodate guests/spectators.

To help with a smooth start to our Halloween festivities, we recommend that students come to school wearing as much of their costume as possible. They will have time to finish getting dressed before the parade begins, but please ensure that your child can put on their costume independently. Unfortunately, we are unable to accommodate parents entering the building to assist with costumes.

Please do not send costume accessories that resemble weapons (e.g., toy guns, swords, knives, axes), as these are not permitted at school.

If your child will not be participating in the Halloween Parade or classroom celebrations due to religious or personal reasons, please email your child’s teacher. Mrs. Pollock and Mrs. Sokol are organizing fall-themed activities for students who prefer an alternative to Halloween events.

Safe Routes to School

Safe Routes to School Survey

As you may know, Windsor Farm Elementary is partnering with Anne Arundel County to make walking and bicycling to school safer and more feasible for our students. This initiative is part of the Safe Routes to School project.

An important next step is gathering feedback to help improve safety and flexibility for students who may walk or bike to school. Please take a few minutes to complete this survey:

If you have any questions about the study, please contact Adam Greenstein at 443-569-9587 or by email at adam.greenstein@aacounty.org.
