Reminders & Notes of Interest

School Bus Evacuation Drill – Thursday (Weather Permitting)

School Bus

On Thursday, we will be conducting our first School Bus Evacuation Drill of the year. This important safety exercise will focus on rear and side door evacuations, helping students understand what to do in the event of an emergency.

We recognize that this experience can feel a bit intimidating, especially for our younger students or those new to riding the bus. To help ease any anxiety, we encourage families to talk with their children about the purpose of the drill and reassure them that it’s simply a practice to help everyone stay safe. Our staff will be on hand to guide and support students throughout the process.

During the drill, students will leave their personal belongings on the bus and reboard once the drill is complete to retrieve them. This helps ensure the drill runs smoothly and safely.

A BIG Thank you to our PTO
PTO Appreciation Day - September 26

Thank you

This Friday, we celebrate PTO Appreciation Day, and we want to take a moment to express our heartfelt gratitude to all of our amazing PTO members. Your time, energy, and dedication make a tremendous difference in the lives of our students and staff.

A special thank you goes out to our PTO Board and Committee Leads—your leadership and commitment have already helped launch this school year on such a positive note. From organizing events to supporting classrooms and building community spirit, your efforts are seen, felt, and deeply appreciated.

We are so grateful for all that you do and look forward to the many ways you’ll continue to enrich our school throughout the year. Thank you for being such an essential part of our school family!

A Note for our young Musicians...

musical instruments

There's a great buzz in the music department at WFE! All students in the Band, Strings & Chorus will wear the same uniform for every event and performance this year. It is the same shirt used last year too. Every student will need to fill out
this form to let us know if you will be using a shirt from last year or need to purchase one. There is an option to pay online or in-person. The cost is $7 and the ordering will close 10/17/25. If you need a shirt after that, you will not be guaranteed your preferred size. Thank you for your quick responses and your support for music in our schools!

A Note from our First Grade teachers...

kids

Do you work in healthcare, fitness, or wellness—or know someone who does? The first-grade team is looking for a parent or community member to visit during the week of October 6 to give a short presentation related to body systems. This could be a nurse, doctor, physical therapist, sports trainer, wellness coach, or anyone with relevant experience.

The presentation would take place at 11:15am during their 'Knowledge Block', and any day that week works. This is a great opportunity to connect real-world expertise with classroom learning and inspire our students!

If you're interested or know someone who might be, please reach out to the front office and the office staff will get you connected to a first-grade teacher. Thank you for helping bring learning to life!

Free & Reduced-Price Meals – Why Apply?

Applying for Free and Reduced-Price Meals not only supports your family with access to nutritious meals—it also benefits our entire school community. Families who qualify help Windsor Farm receive important resources, and the overall percentage of eligible students directly impacts class sizes and staffing. Even if you're unsure, we encourage all families who may meet the guidelines to apply. Learn more about the benefits in this short video and check the eligibility guidelines here.

Please Note: Any Free and Reduced-Price Meal benefits your family may have had last school year will expire on September 30th. To continue receiving meal support, families must submit a new application each year. Don’t miss out—apply today to ensure uninterrupted access to meal benefits!
