February

February 5, 2025

Dear Parents and Guardians,

I am excited to share that during the month of February we will be celebrating Black History Month through our morning announcements, class research projects, and an assembly! Students will be learning about influential people throughout history and how they have positively impacted our local communities, country, and world.

During the month of February, we will also be celebrating and reminding our students about kindness. Our Kindness Club is planning for special initiatives and I invite everyone to participate in our February Spirit Week (see attached). Woodside is a caring community, so what better way to spread the love with games, crafts, and class challenges!

All classes will be participating in a Valentine’s Day party as well. Children are invited to bring Valentine’s Day cards to share with friends. We ask that if your child chooses to participate, he/she brings enough Valentine’s Cards for each student in the class. Teachers will be sending class lists with first names only if you would like to personalize the cards. Students will be provided with white Valentine’s Day bags that they can decorate prior to the party. If you have any questions, please reach out to your teacher, as each grade will be facilitating parties specific to their students’ needs.

Thank you for your continued support!

Book Fair

Dear Parents and Families:

We’re excited to invite you to our upcoming Scholastic Book Fair which will take place from February 10 - 14 in the LIBRARY. Students will have the opportunity to purchase books on their regularly scheduled media day.

Our Book Fair offers eWallet, a safe and secure alternative to cash. Simply create a free account to add funds and/or invite family and friends to contribute so your child can select their own books. Any unused funds can be spent at The Scholastic Store Online or to fund a future eWallet.

If you can’t make it to the Fair, then shop at our school’s Online Book Fair. All orders ship directly to your home, and shipping is free for book orders over $25. Your online orders will also benefit our school. Visit our Book Fair homepage to learn more and get started with eWallet and online shopping:

This month, our focus skill is “Kindness,” which involves being willing to help others and celebrate their successes.
