Reminders & Notes of Interest

This week, in honor of World Kindness Day, Windsor Farm students and staff have set a goal to show 1,000 Acts of Kindness! Small activities have been planned to highlight the kind people and good deeds happening in our school community and showcase the common thread of kindness which binds us together.

Kindness Week

All 2nd Grade students and those 5th Grade students who were not previously identified as Gifted or Advanced will be participating in CogAT Testing this Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday. This 'Cognitive Abilities Test' measures a student's aptitude or potential for learning and provides teachers with insight into a student's readiness to demonstrate higher-level thinking skills in Reading and/or Math. This data will guide students' course assignments in future grade levels.

A Parent's Guide to DIBELS
Parent Information Night

Tuesday, Nov. 12th - 6:30pm

Students in Grades K-3 were recently screened using the Dynamic Indicator of Basic Early Literacy Skills (DIBELS) screener; a tool that accompanies our CKLA Literacy Curriculum to identify readers who may be "at risk" for possible reading difficulties. Families recently received their child's score report but may have some questions about reading the report or would like additional information about their child's results and the impact it may have on their child's education.

Kindergarten - 3rd Grade families are invited to join our Parent Information Night this Tuesday at 6:30pm to learn more about DIBELS and the associated instructional programs. Please join us in-person or on-line using the meeting link below.

PLUS don't worry about dinner that night - pizza for your child is included in the cost!

The cost for this event is $25/child. Registration will close on Wednesday, November 13th. About half the available slots are already full – get your registration in today!

For more information and to register for this event, please go to: www.windsorfarmpto.com/kidsnightout
