Volunteer Aprreciation Sign

Since 1974, National Volunteer Week has been an opportunity to recognize the impact of volunteer service and the power of volunteers to tackle society’s greatest challenges, build stronger communities, and be a force that transforms the world. It takes place every April during Global Volunteer Month.

Here at Windsor Farm Elementary, we are incredibly grateful for the dedication and heart our volunteers bring to our Eagle community every single day. Whether you're helping in the classroom, organizing events, supporting staff, or lending a hand behind the scenes, your efforts help create a safe, joyful, and inspiring learning environment for our students.

You are truly part of what makes Windsor Farm so special — your kindness, generosity, and commitment have a lasting impact on our school and our children. Thank you for helping us soar!

April 22 is National School Bus Appreciation Day!

Please join us in celebrating our amazing bus drivers who safely transport our students to and from school each day. Their dedication, patience, and care make a big difference in our community. Be sure to give a wave and a warm thank-you to your driver on April 22!

Celebrating Our Amazing Front Office Team

This Wednesday is Administrative Professionals’ Day, and we want to give a huge shout-out to three incredible members of our Windsor Farm team — Wendi Clough, Donna Hickey, and Kim Lynch! These three are the heart of our front office, keeping everything running smoothly with kindness, patience, and a smile.

Whether it’s answering calls, comforting a student, helping a staff member, or supporting our families, they do it all — and they do it with such care. We are so lucky to have them!

Thank you, Wendi, Donna, and Kim, for all you do! 💙🦅

MCAP Testing

State Testing for many Maryland students will begin this week. At the elementary level, students in grades 3-5 will be participating in eight sessions of the Maryland Comprehensive Assessment Program (MCAP) – 4 sessions in Math and 4 sessions in English/Language Arts. At Windsor Farm, these sessions are scheduled during April and May. See below for a complete schedule.

·      Testing is scheduled to begin at 8:15 each morning on our scheduled testing days. You can help your student do their best by ensuring they get a good night’s sleep, have something to eat in the morning, and arrive to school on time. Students who arrive after the testing session has begun will need to wait in the office until the session ends and will be scheduled for a make-up session at another time.

Kids Running

Our HERO Boys are on the move!
Our Hero Boys set off to complete their end-of-club 5K run on Saturday, April 26th, and we couldn’t be more proud of their hard work, determination, and team spirit throughout the season. This run is the culmination of weeks of training, goal-setting, and character-building — and these boys have truly risen to the challenge!

We wish them all the luck (and fun!) as they cross the finish line and celebrate their accomplishments. Let’s cheer them on as they show what it means to be strong in mind and body — go Eagles!

Kindergarten Registration

Kindergarten registration opens on April 8th for the upcoming school year! If you or someone you know has a child who will be starting kindergarten at Windsor Farm Elementary in the fall, we encourage you to register as soon as the window opens.

Early registration helps us plan and staff our kindergarten program effectively—and ensures you receive all important communications and updates.

Book Fair Fundraising Update

The Book Fair was a huge success! We raised approximately $4,870 to help fund essential programs for our school, just from the spring fair! The PTO provided a seed fund of $300 to "Share the Fair" from the Community Fund - but thanks to your support, we raised an additional $977.63 (about $750 of this was on Grandparents' Day alone)!

We couldn't have pulled the week off without our amazing volunteers who braved Grandparents' Day with us, helped our students find exactly the right book all week long, worked the register, set up and broke down the fair, and everything in between. Big shout out to: Keisha Baker, Shelley Belvedere, Michelle Broadwater, Andrew Bukovitz, Sam Cribbs, Abbie Finamore, Regina Flynn, Kimberly Goodlin, Rouhi Hairston, Kathy Hogan, Melissa Kadar, Kristen Lockett, Tarah Nagel, Annie Scott, Sarah Sheppard, Maria Wilson, Elise Wroten, Mandy Wiseman, and Angela Colbert!

We realize that Grandparents' Day was hot, claustrophobic, and confusing. Next year, we’ll definitely be making some tweaks to help it run a bit more smoothly!
